Only two months on island and this is our fourth typhoon. Every one of them has happened on a weekend, too. Makes for some boring Saturdays. This one is worse than the others. Power lost in some parts of the island (not us, though) roofs ripped off and cars flipped in the streets (for those who are driving during this madness, of course).
I saw our neighbor's dog house get carried away...they had left their dog outside too (but I don't think it was in the house. Not that I would've minded that particular dog being taken far away), and a power line get ripped out next door. I even stood on our porch during a few big gusts...pretty scary the power of wind! When typhoons come around, it continually sounds like the beginning of the Wizard of Oz. There is this terrible whistling sound as well that doesn't go away, it's eery. Another thing that happens is while you're in the house, the air pressure fluctuates with each gust and your ears go haywire! But thankfully we are safe, our windows are holding strong and Little E is even taking a nice nap! Woot woot!
