We've been here a year!

Hard to believe that we've already clocked a whole year living abroad...and just when I was beginning to get used to everything, we're throwing a new (and I'm sure, adorable) wrench into life by having another baby!  I'm beginning to lament my one-child existence already and start my countdown to total chaos!  But I still have 5 WEEKS of relative normalness that I will thoroughly enjoy (minus all my aches and pains of second pregnancy).

33 weeks...yes, I am indeed, THAT big!

We've had a wonderful and hot summer with NO typhoons this year (which is very weird).  Little E had her first intense swim classes and they've been AMAZING!  Those lifeguards on Camp Foster are miracle workers!  She went from not wanting to get any part of her face wet to full on kicking and arm scooping completely under the water...I'm impressed and there was NO way she was going to get there with me.
Not even wanting to get in!

We house-sat (can that be a verb?) this summer for some dear friends on the island who spent their time in the states.  They're house is on the beach and walking distance to the best park on island - plus it's a brand new house in a quiet neighborhood.  What a wonderful break!
Little E and I spent all summer swimming, going to the zoo and playgroup, doing art, just generally being silly, meeting up with friends and stocking up on educational supplies to begin learning at home.  We've both been growing a ton (I've been growing more OUT than UP) and really enjoying each other.  Of course, all that will change once baby brother gets here!

Our favorite place to swim, the Naval Kadena Pool off base - water slides and shallow water...perfect!

A little bat at the zoo

playgroup time

general silliness

Eating lunch at Xystus indoor play land (an excellent alternative to burning your little backside at a hot park)

Evening walks by the ocean
E's favorite part of the zoo - the petting zoo!

Apparently the turtle is making this face.
